ASHO Programs

Guiding client families with one-on-one appointments laying out a possible plan for the family. Present the first steps and guiding steps to meet families’ respective goals. Clients get to meet with ASHO face to face, expressing their desires, needs, and emotions based on their circumstances.

Holistic run down of family’s future including but not limited to the IDD client. Children’s educational future like college now, parents’ certifications for job requirements, and other guiding factors for the whole family. ASHO networks and connects clients and members of their family with respective avenues they are interested in. 

Registering clients and parents for Front Door for Office For Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to ensure that IDD children are on the right track. ASHO staff account for family situations and discuss the matter thoroughly while going through the process. 

Assist clients with receiving benefits like SNAP, SSI, Medicare, Medicaid etc. Scheduled appointments with follow-ups for the case along with staff guidance is ensured. One 100-dollar flat fee is required for the start of the process.

Facilitating weekly classes for senior community members in basic computer skills and basic English literacy skills. Small classes ranging from 10-15 people ensure better assistance with students. Classes are bilingual- in Bangla and English free of charge. 

    ASHO is a nonprofit that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in its practices and programs. ASHO maintains inclusive and updated policies and procedures. ASHO provides monthly training to employees on DEI principles and best practices.
